Thank you BookSirens and DC Pitt for the advance copy of Rings, Rocks and Murder:  A Rosie Ryan Cozy Mystery by DC Pitt.

I loved the first book in the Rosie Ryan series, so I was excited for the opportunity to read book two.

Reporter Rosie Ryan isn’t looking forward to her latest assignment. She’d rather be doing almost anything else than staying with famous actress, Katy Dark, and her entourage at the old Lighthouse Inn. Even if there is a quirky coincidence among the other guests: all six of them have names that start with the letter C.

But coincidence quickly becomes chaos when murder happens and the only clue is the letter C scrawled in the victim’s own blood. One of them is a killer, but—which one?

Cameron: the unhappy husband?
Cindy: the secretive publicist?
Chris: the handsome biographer?
Chadek: the brutish security guard?
Colin: the jealous ex-manager?
Charlotte: the obsessive fan?

Local hunky cop, Todd Parker, is already busy dealing with the craziness of the Annual Cupcake Festival, so Rosie Ryan’s more than happy to take on the case. Along with her dog, Trixie, and her librarian friend, Kim Chen, Rosie’s determined to solve the baffling mystery—before the killer strikes again.

I really enjoy Rosie Ryan’s character.  She is smart and knows exactly the questions to ask when she is investigating.  In the first book her internal thoughts frustrated me a little, but I was used to them by book two and thought they were funny.

This book had a lot of characters especially ones that started with the letter C and that made things a little challenging to keep track.  I wish there was more of a description of each character but as I read, I got to know the suspects better.

The supporting characters in this book are fun.  I enjoy Rosie’s friend Kim and Todd the police detective.  I wish there would have been more of Rosie’s Nan in this book she made the first book for me.

The mystery in this book had multiple layers and I did not have the killer figured out or the reasoning for the other crimes so that is a huge plus for me.  I can typically figure out the suspect way before the main character.  I was excited to keep guessing.

The setting of Ring, Rock and Murder makes me want to get on a plane and go to Australia.

Overall, this is a fun series, and you don’t have to read book one because the mysteries are contained within each other.  I look forward to reading book three in the series.
