I love Beth O’Leary books The Flatshare is one of my absolute favorite romance books so I preordered The No-Show immediately. The No-Show was different from her books and without too many spoilers it took me a while to get into it.
Siobhan is a quick-tempered life coach with way too much on her plate. Miranda is a tree surgeon used to being treated as just one of the guys on the job. Jane is a soft-spoken volunteer for the local charity shop with zero sense of self-worth.
These three women are strangers who have only one thing in common: they’ve all been stood up on the same day, the very worst day to be stood up—Valentine’s Day. And, unbeknownst to them, they’ve all been stood up by the same man.
Once they’ve each forgiven him for standing them up, they are all in serious danger of falling in love with a man who may have not just one or two but three women on the go….
Is there more to him than meets the eye? Where was he on Valentine’s Day? And will they each untangle the truth before they all get their hearts broken?
The characters in the book were all different Siobhan was my least favorite I think because she had to deal with a lot of issues and make some personal decisions. I loved Miranda’s job and her interactions with her twin sisters. Jane was my favorite while she was soft-spoken her love of order and books gave he a soft spot in my heart.
I don’t want to say much about Joseph Carter because it would give the story away but I liked him but didn’t like him. It’s hard to like someone that is dating three woman.
The No-Show was slow to get started. You didn’t want these women falling for a man that was seeing other woman but you couldn’t help doing just that. The book’s climax/twist happened about sixty percent of the way into the book and while I figured it out a bit earlier I was happy to keep reading and enjoyed the book. The No-Show was not like O’Leary’s other books but it was definitely a good read.
Have you read The No Show?
